John is OHM’s longest serving Director and a Chartered Accountant with over 40 years of experience in Professional Advice and Services in the SME sector.
During this time he has helped hundreds of businesses grow and prosper. He is a specialist in the fields of Taxation, Business Management, Entity Structuring, and Financial Review. He is a Registered Company Auditor and Tax Agent.
John is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and Taxation Institute of Australia, as well as a Member of the Financial Planning Association.
John leads his team with a proactive client centred approach. He has a strong focus on risk management, asset growth, profitability, succession and retirement planning, which are demonstrated in his successful client portfolio.
John enjoys the challenge of keeping up to date with the constant changes to tax legislation and to the SME environment in general.
Out of the office John is an avid fisherman and golfer. He is also a committed St Kilda supporter and remains hopeful for a premiership soon.
Bruce draws on a wealth of over 40 years’ experience in Accounting. He began his career in the Audit Division of a major multinational practice. Moving to Business Services, he progressed to managing a chartered practice specialising in SME Business Management and Advice, Taxation, Business Regulations, Due Diligence and Complex Structures.
Bruce joined OHM in 1988 and is a Certified Practicing Accountant and Chartered Accountant.
Bruce has been a member of the Australian Society of CPA’s and part of a Taxation Study Group for over 20 years. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and also an Associate of the Taxation Institute of Australia.
Bruce leads his team with a proactive client centred approach. He has a strong focus on risk management, asset growth, profitability, succession and retirement planning, which are demonstrated in his successful client portfolio.
Bruce enjoys the challenge of keeping up to date with the constant changes to tax legislation and to the SME environment in general.
After hours Bruce is a passionate outdoorsman participating in mountain bike riding, windsurfing,
snowboarding and motorbike riding.
Scott’s passion for taxation, paired with business knowledge gained through over 10 years’ experience Professional Advice and Services in the SME sector, evokes confidence with his colleagues and clients alike.
Scott is someone who likes to take a broad viewpoint and make sure that he has considered all possible solutions that could work for his client. He ensures that he asks the right questions and has all the facts before making recommendations.
For Scott, the key is to fix the source of the problem rather than its effects. And while he likes to step back and take a bigger view of the issues, he is also equally keen to be involved in all aspects of each project to ensure he has maximised every opportunity for his client.
Scott relishes the challenge of keeping up to date with constant changes to tax legislation to ensure his clients are well advised. His significant expertise lies in small-to medium enterprise taxation matters.
Scott advises clients on a broad range of tax issues including capital gains tax and small business concessions, Division 7A, structuring and restructuring, tax consequences of acquisitions and divestments, taxation of trusts, international tax issues and tax risk management.
Outside of work, Scott is an MCC member and Hawthorn FC fan who has been a keen motorbike rider since childhood.
Gary joined the accounting profession in 1976 and became a Partner in one of the Big Four global accounting firms in 1985.
In 2003 Gary established his own practice, specializing in business valuations, mergers, acquisitions and divestments, and financial due diligence. Gary has performed valuations and advised on transactions across of range of industries including professional services, agriculture and aquaculture, and quarries and concrete.
Gary is the Chairman of OHM and is a Director of Southseas Abalone Limited. He is a Chartered Accountant, a Registered Tax Agent, and is the Responsible Officer for the Australian Financial Services Licence held by his corporate entity.
Out of the office Gary’s time is occupied in the garden, being entertained by grandchildren or observing a range of sporting activities.
Julie joined OHM in 2002 as a Graduate Accountant, and commenced her career in Business Services before making the transition into our Superannuation Division three years later.
Julie was admitted as a Chartered Accountant in 2011 and ensures all our Self Managed Superannuation Fund clients receive the highest quality of service.
Julie prides herself on her close relationships with clients and strives to deliver a high quality service in relation to the accounting, administration and compliance of their self-managed superannuation funds.
Julie is responsible for ensuring that our dedicated superannuation division is proactively and efficiently handling the ongoing accounting and administration requirements of our clients SMSFs.
After hours, Julie combines fitness and creativity by performing Middle Eastern dancing.
Taking a proactive interest in each client’s business, Linda delivers clear and insightful advice to identify opportunities and improve tax efficiencies.
Linda is a Certified Practicing Accountant and one of OHM’s leading Business Services Managers. She has over 9 years’ experience in public practice serving SME sector and high wealth individuals. Linda’s passion is utilising her expertise in business services to develop long term client relationships.
With a strong focus on risk management, growth and profitability, Linda provides high quality services and information within a team strategy that integrates taxation, legal, finance and asset protection goals.
Linda excels at providing timely advice to ensure her clients understand the tax implications of their business decisions and are always protected and on course for growth.
Outside of work, Linda enjoys spending time with her two beautiful children and is also a keen traveller.
George’s clients value his personal approach and his ability to help them maximise value in their businesses with clear and timely advice.
George joined OHM in 2007 and was admitted as a Chartered Accountant in 2010.
George enjoys working closely with his clients to help identify potential opportunities to maximise businesses performance and value. George is also equally keen to assist clients to ensure they remain compliant and up to date with tax law whilst achieving the best possible tax outcome.

In his spare time George likes to keep active going to the gym as well as Dirt bike riding, Mountain bike riding and Wakeboarding.
Melissa adopts a holistic and client centred approach, prioritising each client’s individual needs and keeping them up to date on the ever changing business landscape.
Melissa is a longstanding member of the OHM team and has worked in the profession for over 15 years. She is a qualified chartered accountant and fills a key role in our business services team providing oversight and technical expertise. She is a friendly and open member of our team who is dedicated to providing her clients with the highest quality in service and advice.
Having previously worked at second tier accounting firms, Melissa has gained valuable experience working with various sized corporate groups and has experience in complex tax matters.
Outside of work, Melissa is kept busy by her young family and is an avid reader, snow skier and keen traveller.
Justin has a passion for small business and assisting clients navigate the complex and ever changing Australian tax system.
Justin came to OHM as an accounting graduate in February 2009 and delved straight into the chartered accountant program which he completed within 2 years of commencing at OHM.
Justin has spent his time at OHM developing his skills in the business services team and is also a key part of the corporate advisory and business development groups at OHM.
By taking a proactive interest in understanding each client’s business, Justin prides himself on his ability to identify opportunities and improve tax efficiency. A strong focus on risk management,
